School in a Bag
Following a very informative presentation on a Club Night by Luke Simon we committed to supporting this very straightforward and worthy cause to provide the essential equipment to allow children globally to have the opportunity to learn.
To date donations have been made and we propose to give it on-going support both directly and by promoting School in a Bag in local schools and other contacts, stressing the opportunity to track on line the progress of each bag sponsored via its unique i/d.
Equipment supply to Eye Hospitals in Africa
Club member Ann-Marie Ablett is a Clinical Leader in Opthalmology and has, for many years, worked as a volunteer with ORBIS. She has worked in 14 countries around the world not only assisting in eye surgery but also training local health workers and works to increase the capacity and capability in the regions visited. To support her efforts the club has sourced re-useable specialist surgical equipment for the hospitals in Africa she has links with.
